# Vybe Marketplace: MCP tools

> MCP tools that AI assistants can use. Free tools need no account. Paid tools charge per call through Vybe Pay MCP, and the wallet owner approves each payment.

## How to use a tool

- Free tool: connect its MCP URL (connect.mcpUrl in the JSON), POST {"arguments": {...}} to connect.runUrl, or call run_free_tool in Vybe Pay MCP (https://www.vybe.finance/api/mcp/pay). None of these need a sign-in or key. Each caller gets a fair-use limit per tool, and a 429 says when it resets.
- Paid tool with its own connect.mcpUrl (built with Buildr): connect that URL. It answers 401 with OAuth metadata, so clients that support MCP sign-in can sign the user in with Vybe; otherwise send the header "Authorization: Bearer vapt_..." (the user's Vybe spend key). Each tools/call is charged to the user: free calls first, then bundle calls. When those run out, tools that sell bundles ask the user to approve the smallest bundle (tools without bundles ask for one payment). If the result says a payment needs approval, show the user the approveUrl and call again once approved.
- Any paid tool: connect Vybe Pay MCP once (https://www.vybe.finance/api/mcp/pay). Call search_tools or get_tool, then pay_offering with the tool's offeringUrl. After the owner approves, call use_paid_offering with the publicId, toolName and toolArguments. Free calls are used first. Pass calls (500, 1000 or 5000) to pay_offering to prepay a bundle, often at a discount.
