About VybeGetting started
Who is Vybe for?
Freelancers, remote workers, and creators who earn or hold money across borders—and want one balance to get paid, pay by @username, and cash out when they need local currency.
Do I need crypto experience?
No. Sign in with email or Google. Your account and balance are created for you. You send by @username and get paid by link—not by memorizing addresses or buying gas tokens.
How long does setup take?
Minutes. Authenticate, claim a username, and you’re ready to receive. The “rail homework” is the part we removed.
Balance & custody
What is my Vybe balance?
One spendable balance. Invoices, transfers from friends, and bank funding (when enabled in your region) credit the same number. You see what you can spend—not five disconnected wallets.
Who holds my funds?
You control a self-custody smart wallet under the hood. Access is tied to your account recovery—not a seed phrase you’re expected to tattoo on a notebook. Settlement partners handle banking rails when you use them.
Do I need ETH for gas?
For supported sends on our network, fees are sponsored. You don’t need a gas token sitting idle just to move money.
Can I still use a wallet address?
Yes. Pay links, payment requests, and @usernames are the happy path. Your address remains available when someone needs it.
Sending, requests & friends
How does pay by @username work?
Claim a unique name. Add friends or share your pay link. Enter an amount, confirm the person, and send. Notifications land when someone pays you.
What is a payment request?
A fixed-amount link with a memo. Share it with a client or friend—they open it, pay, and your balance goes up. No “what’s your wallet?” thread.
Can I sell sessions or packages?
Yes. Publish a service page at /s/@you with priced offerings (sessions, retainers, one-offs). Clients book & pay; each booking creates a payment request for that amount. Enable Vybe Collect so AI agents can discover and pay the same offerings.
What is Vybe Collect?
Collect is money in — humans and agents, same catalog. Pay is P2P by @username. Wallet holds the balance. Vybe Pay MCP lets your AI start a pay under caps — you Approve or Decline each time. Details at /collect and /pay-mcp.
What is a VAPT / Vybe Pay MCP?
A VAPT (vapt_…) is an agent spend key with hard caps. Issue it in Settings → Agent spend, paste it into Cursor or Claude as Vybe Pay MCP auth, and Approve every Collect payment in Vybe. Install steps: /pay-mcp. Agents can also read /llms.txt.
What if I send to the wrong person?
Confirm screens exist so you see the recipient before funds leave. Always double-check the @name—same habit you’d use on any money app.
Are invites required?
No. Anyone can open a balance. Invites simply speed up getting your circle onto the same rail.
Bank rails, fees & card
Can I fund from my bank?
That’s the next layer: deposit rails through licensed partners. Availability depends on region and rollout—check Add money in the app when it’s live for you.
What does Vybe charge today?
Paying friends by @username is free. Payment requests at or above the threshold include a small platform fee (default 1.5%)—you can absorb it or have the client pay it on top. Vybe Business (recurring invoices, branding, CSV) is free to enable for now. Short premium @usernames may be a one-time fee when billing is live. Bank rails may add partner FX when those go live.
Is the virtual card available?
Not yet. It’s an optional spend layer, not the core product. Request early access from your dashboard. Planned: $0 creation fee and $0 maintenance when it launches.
Will I need identity verification for bank or card?
Yes, for those rails. Compliance checks run through partners. We’ll walk you through it in-app when your region unlocks.
Trust & company
Is Vybe a bank or exchange?
No. Vybe is a software interface. Wallets, bank settlement, and card rails run through licensed infrastructure partners. Always read in-app disclosures as features launch.
Where do you launch first?
Nigeria—tech freelancers and creators earning across borders—then similar high-friction markets.
I’m a builder. Where’s the agent / API story?
Get paid: /collect — individuals stay toggle-only; businesses get credentials, webhooks, and the express-vybe-402 middleware. Spend / policies: /developer (Agent OS).
How do I get support?
Use in-app help where available, or reach out through the channels published on vybe as we scale support.
Open your balance and see it yourself.
The fastest FAQ answer is a live balance and a pay link with your name on it.
