01

Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Vybe (“Vybe,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website, create or use a Vybe account, interact with a smart wallet through our interface, use a Vybe username or payment link, add friends, receive notifications, contact support, or request access to future products such as local currency rails or a virtual dollar card.

Vybe provides a software interface. Smart-wallet infrastructure, authentication, gas sponsorship, blockchain networks, and future card or payment services may be provided by separate partners under their own privacy notices. This Policy covers Vybe’s handling of information; it does not replace a partner’s notice.

02

Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details: email address, authentication identifiers, and information associated with Google, email OTP, or another supported sign-in method.
  • Profile details: your selected username, avatar, display preferences, and wallet address.
  • Social and payment inputs: usernames you search for, people you add as friends, recipient addresses, payment amounts, token selection, invitations, and payment-link activity.
  • Product-interest details: email, expected spending or transaction-volume range, and the products you ask to hear about, such as a card, on-ramp, or cash-out feature.
  • Communications: support requests, feedback, survey responses, and other messages you send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and connection data, such as browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, language, and device identifiers.
  • Usage and diagnostic data, such as pages viewed, features used, referral source, timestamps, errors, and security events.
  • Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies used to maintain sessions, remember an invite or payment destination, prevent abuse, and understand product performance.

Blockchain and partner information

We may receive wallet addresses, authentication status, smart-wallet identifiers, balances, and transaction status from wallet infrastructure providers or public blockchains. If regulated products launch, verification and card partners may confirm eligibility or verification status. Unless needed and permitted, Vybe does not need to receive a full copy of identity documents collected directly by those partners.

03

How information is used in each Vybe use case

When you sign in and open a wallet

We use your account and authentication identifiers to recognize you, connect you to the correct smart wallet, secure your session, recover account access, and prevent unauthorized use.

When you claim a username

We store the username, avatar, and linked wallet identifier to confirm uniqueness and let others find and pay you. Your username, avatar, and public wallet or payment destination may be visible to anyone who visits your public payment or invitation page.

When you send or receive stablecoins

We use wallet addresses, recipient details, token, amount, and transaction status to prepare the transfer, show a confirmation, display activity, send notifications, troubleshoot failures, and protect against fraud. The blockchain—not Vybe—records the final on-chain transaction.

When you add friends or invite someone

We use account, username, friendship, and invitation data to create your social payment list, route an invite to the intended profile, and make repeat payments easier. We do not require uploading your phone’s entire address book for this feature.

When you receive notifications

We use profile, friendship, and payment-event data to tell you that someone added you or that a supported payment was received. Notification history may be retained so you can review and mark items as read.

When you request early access

We use contact details, product selection, and volume range to measure demand, plan capacity, contact you about that product, and determine the order or suitability of a rollout. Requesting interest does not guarantee approval or availability.

When you ask for support

We use your message, account identifiers, relevant diagnostics, and transaction reference to investigate the issue, communicate with you, document the resolution, and improve the product.

04

Other purposes and legal bases

We also process information to:

  • operate, maintain, personalize, and improve Vybe;
  • detect spam, fraud, sanctions exposure, security threats, and prohibited activity;
  • enforce our Terms, resolve disputes, and protect users, Vybe, and others;
  • comply with lawful requests, tax, accounting, anti-money-laundering, sanctions, and other legal obligations that apply to us;
  • analyze aggregated product performance and develop new features; and
  • send service notices and, where permitted, product communications you can opt out of.

Depending on where you live, our legal bases include performing our contract with you, complying with law, protecting vital interests, pursuing legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, and your consent where required. You may withdraw consent for future processing, but withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing.

05

Public usernames, links, and blockchains

Vybe makes certain information public by design. A public payment or invitation page may display your username, avatar, and information needed to identify the intended payment destination. Do not choose a username or avatar that reveals information you do not want others to see.

Blockchain records are public and generally permanent. A transaction may reveal wallet addresses, token type, amount, time, smart-contract interactions, and transaction history. Even if Vybe deletes an account record or hides information in our interface, we cannot delete, alter, or make private a transaction already recorded on a blockchain. Third parties may independently analyze and link public blockchain activity.

06

When we share information

We may share information with:

  • Wallet and authentication providers, including Crossmint, to authenticate you, create and operate smart wallets, sponsor supported gas, and submit transactions you authorize.
  • Infrastructure providers, such as cloud hosting, databases, security, communications, error monitoring, and analytics vendors that process data for us under contractual controls.
  • Payment, card, identity, and compliance partners if you apply for a regulated feature. Those partners may make their own eligibility decisions and act as independent controllers of information they collect.
  • Other users and the public when you use a public profile, payment link, invite, friendship, or blockchain transaction.
  • Authorities or affected parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, or protect rights and safety.
  • Transaction participants during a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice requirements.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising unless we first provide any notice and choice required by applicable law.

07

Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Account and profile records are generally kept while your account is active. Support, security, transaction reference, and compliance records may be retained longer to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, satisfy legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.

Product-interest records are kept while the relevant rollout remains active or until you withdraw your interest, subject to backup and legal-retention periods. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove encrypted backups. Public blockchain data is not controlled by Vybe and cannot be deleted by us.

08

Security and account protection

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the sensitivity of the information we handle. These may include access controls, encryption in transit, environment separation, monitoring, vendor review, and restricted production access.

No system, wallet, blockchain, or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your sign-in account and devices, verify recipient details, never share one-time codes, and contact in-app support if you suspect unauthorized access. Vybe will never ask for a seed phrase or private key.

09

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on your location, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable privacy laws, you may have rights to:

  • access and receive a copy of personal information about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion or restriction of processing;
  • object to certain processing or direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent;
  • receive portable information where technically feasible and legally required; and
  • complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent data-protection authority.

Some requests may be limited by identity-verification needs, legal obligations, fraud-prevention requirements, the rights of others, and the permanent nature of public blockchains. You can stop marketing messages using the unsubscribe method provided. Essential service and security messages may continue.

10

International data transfers

Vybe and its providers may process information outside your country, including where cloud, wallet, or compliance partners operate. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual, technical, or organizational safeguards. Different countries may have different privacy laws, but our handling remains subject to this Policy and applicable transfer requirements.

11

Children

Vybe is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Do not create an account or use Vybe if you are under 18. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us through in-app support so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as Vybe, our partners, or applicable laws change. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice through the website, app, or account contact information. Your continued use after the effective date is subject to the updated Policy.

13

Contact and complaints

For a privacy request, question, or complaint, contact Vybe through the support channel available in the app. Include the email associated with your account, the nature of your request, and the country where you live. Do not include private keys, one-time codes, or sensitive identity documents in an ordinary support message.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also contact the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or your local privacy regulator if you believe your concern has not been resolved.
